Marcelyn McNeil: Good Day Bad Day

Good Day Bad Day highlights Marcelyn McNeil's experimental approach to painting and process. The exhibition features twelve larger-than-life-sized works. The pieces are made up of bright hues and are both elegant and understated. Marcelyn challenges assumptions about abstraction and shows her work across Texas. She earned an MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago and later taught painting for two years at the University of Houston.

Cindee Travis Klement: Preview of Symbiosis

While no longer on public view, Preview of Symbiosis can still be enjoyed online. Created by Cindee Travis Klement, the piece "introduces color, texture, and variation through native plants." Based in Houston, Cindee worked in construction and commercial real estate before realizing her dream of becoming an artist. Many of her recent works highlight conservation issues, and they're also on view at the Houston Flood Museum.
